Separated box dryer
The separated box dryer is a combination of the static box dryer and the continuous box dryer. With this type of drying installation the boxes are placed separately in a construction and against an air distribution system. Air is sucked through a ventilator by an AMU and distributed through the box layers by blow-out vent. Every vent is provided with a mechanical valve. When the box is placed, the air vent valve is opened automatically.

Drying process:

The total amount of air is distributed over the boxes. When a box is placed, the flow is increased proportionally; With a maximum of 5 boxes per ventilator the flow is increased or reduced by 20% when placing or removing a box.

The drying process is characterized by the gradual heating of the product. The desired moisture value of the seed is programmed. The product T° and the RH is measured in one box. On this measuring is controlled on all boxes.

The air flowing in is heated x-°C compared to the out going air (delta-T). When the desired RH of the product is reached the incoming T° is gradually reduced. When the desired T° and RH is reached, the flow is gradually reduced. This assures a stable T° and RH of the product. When the flow is minimal, the product is dry and the boxes can be removed.
