Perfect information about perfection in 2-Layer ventilation

Efficient ventilation demands an efficient ventilation system. Moreover, the ventilation boxes must be easy to manage and durable.
The 2-layer air-distribution system meets these criteria. It operates according to a logical principle.

The boxes are stacked in rows in front of the air-distribution system. The openings in the air-distribution system are aligned with the pallet openings at the bottom of the boxes. Air from the air-distribution system is blown through the boxes containing the product.

The underside of the pallet of the two-layer ventilation box is open. This underside aligns completely with the top of the box below. This ensures that the air cannot escape from the sides.





The 2-layer air-distribution system

When an even number of boxes are stacked on top of each other in front of the air-distribution system, the air is blown in for every two layers of boxes. Via the pallets of every even layer of boxes, the air is constantly distributed over 2 layers of boxes. (i.e. the 1st and 2nd layers of boxes, the 3rd and 4th layers of boxes, and possibly also the 5th and 6th layers of boxes.) The air escapes via the pallets of the uneven layers of boxes as well as at the top. (Special attachments are used to safeguard efficient air distribution.) The diagram clearly illustrates this.

Practical issues

The boxes are easy to use when working out on the land and you can also transport them using a hand-pallet truck. Because the air is distributed over two layers of boxes, slightly less even drying is sometimes observed. This is connected with the volumes, size and type of the product to be dried.

In consultation with the users, Agratechniek developed what are called ventilation plates. These can be used to realize the quality of the 1-layer ventilation technique with the 2-layer air-distribution system.
